New Visitors Guide
We have put together a guide detailing use of certain areas of the site and questions we often receive from customers new to the site. If you have a query concerning site usage that is not answered here then please email us on sales@nisbets.ie and we will do our best to help. Topics covered in this section are:
- Searching and browsing for products.

Searching and browsing for products.
Search
- A simple Search box can be found at the top of every page on the website. You can use this to search for keywords (such as 'toaster'), or product codes if you know them.
- Some common searches may return a lot of results. You can use Detailed Search to be more specific - you can filter your search by brand, price, stock quantity and product category.
Browse
- Browse through the categories from the left hand menu.
- You can also browse items by brand by clicking the 'Shop by Brand' button located at the top left of the screen.
Adding and removing items from your basket.
Adding to the Basket
- To add an item to your basket, enter the quantity required into the column marked 'Qty' and click 'Add to Basket'.
- If you wish you can add more than one item from the list of products by entering the number required in each column then clicking 'Add all Products'.
- In addition to clicking the 'Add To Basket' button, you can also press the enter button on your keyboard.
Changing Quantities or Deleting from the Basket
- If you wish to change the number of items or remove items completely from your basket you will need to go to the 'Basket' screen by clicking the 'My Basket' or 'Edit' buttons on the top of the inline basket display.
- Once in the 'Basket' screen you can overtype the number required in the 'Qty' column and save your changes by clicking the 'Update' button located next to the number field, or if you are amending more than one item, by clicking the 'Update all Quantities' button at the top of the 'Qty' column. You can also press the enter key on your keyboard.
- If you wish to delete an item completely then click the 'Delete' button located at the end of the row.
Fast Order
- If you already know the code of the item you wish to order you can use the Fast Order screen to speed up the ordering process.
- Simply type the code and quantity required into the appropriate fields the click the 'Add to Basket' button.
Ordering embroidery and engraving.
Embroidery and engraving can be ordered from within the basket screen - if it is available for the product there will be a link to follow beneath the product description.
Embroidery and engraving options are as follows:
Option 1. Text Embroidery Only: We can embroider up to 30 letters on the garments chest or upper sleeve. You can select typeface and colour from a range of styles. The height of the letters is approximately 12mm.

Option 2. Crossed Flags with Embroidered Name Below: You can choose any combination of national flag, either with both flags the same, or with two different ones. An embroidered name below the flag is included in the price.
Option 3. Two Matching National Flags on Collar: Two matching national flags can be embroidered on your chef's jacket collar. This can be ordered in combination with either of the options above. 
Engraving: You can have three uppercase initials engraved on the blade of your knife.
Personalised items can be reviewed and edited via the basket. Please note that orders containing personalised items will not be part dispatched, please allow 4-5 days for delivery.
Saving delivery addresses.
When you initially register you are asked for your invoicing address, but you can store, edit and delete multiple delivery addresses for later selection when you go through the checkout procedure.
To use this facility you must be logged into your account. It is accessed from the 'My Account > Delivery Addresses' screen.
Payment options and VAT.
Credit and Debit Cards
We accept Visa debit and credit cards, Mastercard and Switch Maestro. Regretfully we cannot accept Electron, Solo or American Express cards via this website.
Credit Facilities
If you have already have an account with a credit facility this can be made available for you to use online. Please email webtech@nisbets.co.uk with your account number to have this enabled.
If you do not have a credit facility but would like to use one online please email the address above with your address details.
VAT
Prices on the site automatically display excluding VAT. However, if you prefer to view prices including VAT then you can do so by clicking the 'Inc / Ex VAT' button displayed on the basket panel at the top right of the screen.
