Day labels give staff an immediate visual reference to when food was prepared, opened or stored. They are especially useful in fridges and prep areas where several batches of the same ingredient may be in use during the week. Clear day-based identification supports first-in, first-out rotation and makes it easier for teams to check stock before starting preparation. Because the information is quick to read, day labels can reduce the time spent opening containers or checking separate records during busy service. Where more detail is required, food labels can add product names, handling notes or other information alongside the date. For ingredients or dishes that also need allergen information to remain visible, allergen labels can be used alongside the rotation system.
