Gastronorm pans use a fractional sizing system which is standardised for the caterign industry. These pans are used at every stage of food service from freezing and preparation to display and service.
Knowing the depth will help you establish how many gastronorm pans will fit into your racking setup, combi ovens or even in cold storage. As a hard metal, stainless steel gastronorm pans cannot be marked by metal utensils, and so are built to withstand the rigours of a busy service environment.
